Amplify Cayman is a non-profit organization based in the Cayman Islands that works to promote sustainable development, social justice, and environmental protection, through active civic engagement. The organization is committed to amplifying the voices of underrepresented.
The group is firmly rooted in the belief that the voices of the people must be heard And encourages Caymanians young and old to get involved in the process that will shape Cayman’s future. Reminding all Caymanians that “the time for your Voice is now”. Amplify Cayman recognizes that environmental protection is the cornerstone of a sustainable future. The organization consistently advocates for policies that safeguard the Cayman Islands’ unique natural environment, respect Cayman’s majestic wetlands, promote renewable energy sources, and encourage sustainable coastal-use practices.

Amplifying Cayman's Democracy

At the heart of Amplify Cayman’s work lies a deep commitment to civic engagement and amplifying the voices of underrepresented demographics. The organization believes that the voices of the people must be heard and considered in decision-making processes that shape Cayman’s future. In its own words, “we are confident that our community knows what it needs for our islands to grow sustainably” and seeks to amplify the different perspectives of people on the ground to the ears of the decision makers.

Voter Registration Drives:

The organization has registered over a thousand new voters, empowering Caymanians to participate in the democratic process.

Amplify Cayman has conducted surveys to gauge public opinion on local and global environmental issues, ensuring that people’s perspectives are represented in policy decisions.

The organization has organized open letter campaigns to express collective concerns and advocate for positive change.

George Town

One of Amplify Cayman’s most notable contributions to environmental protection has been its unwavering opposition to the development of a cruise ship terminal in George Town. The organization has raised awareness of the potential environmental and social impacts of the project, advocating for a more sustainable approach to tourism that benefits both the environment and local communities.
